look    design

Look design can be a very beneficial step to take in pre-production for all departments involved.
The first step is creating Colour Palettes,  these can be extracted from any artistic references provided.
These palettes can be used as a guide by the relevant departments in helping decide what colours to pick for the desired feel of a particular scene.

Once the colour palettes are decided, 3D look up tables can be created to be used on set, providing a distinguished
 look.
These luts can be created to compliment the desired look or can also be created to emulate the feeling of a particular film stock.
This will provide a clearer picture on set of what the final result will look like after Grading which can help with making decisions in relation to lighting and costume, etc.
Seeing the graded image on set also reduces the risk of unpleasant surprises in post.

The luts created can then be re-introduced in the grading process, which will
significantly reduce the overall grading time.

Check out some 3D look up table examples below created for clients in the past.
